Security Recommendations

  • Avoid shopping online and using CAM Directo in public places where access to the web is shared or available to other people, such as internet cafes, universities, schools, etc..
  • Make sure you are on a secure website. When you log onto CAM Directo check to make sure the address starts with https instead of just http. You should also see a padlock or key icon on your browser. If you wish to confirm the authenticity of the page, you can double click on it and the message you see should contain the text: ebanking.cam-miami.com
  • Browse trusted webpages. Numerous non-trustworthy websites (usually those containing adult contents, pirated software, free film downloads, etc.) can target weaknesses in browsers to install malicious software. Do not accept programs that request to be downloaded even though you have not clicked on anything.
  • Remember, you must log out of CAM Directo to close your session correctly; better still you should close your browser, even though you have to reload it again later.
  • To enter your password, use the virtual keyboard since it makes it difficult for malicious programs such as "trojans" to capture information obtained when you press the keys on your keyboard.
  • Keep your Token in a safe place.  Your OTP Token is your key to use the online banking service and approve transactions. Be very careful about where you keep it.
  • Never send your codes or passwords by e-mail. CAM-Miami will never ask you to disclose your details by e-mail; do not trust any messages that ask you for account information or personal details since they have probably been sent by unscrupulous individuals trying to pass themselves off as CAM Miami.
  • Make sure your computer has the latest software versions and install an antivirus program that is regularly updated.
